Dr. Jacoby serves as PAHO's focal point in the anti-obesity campaign. Some activities related to his present post are: The organization of the Regional conference on the implementation in the Americas of the WHO Global Strategy on Diet, Physical Activity and Health, Costa Rica, April 2006; and Co-Principal Investigator of a research project The evaluation of the impact of the urban built environment on the physical activity level of Bogotá residents.

Professor of Psychology and Preventive Medicine at the State University of New York at Stony Brook, Dr Weidner is Vice President and Director of Research at the Preventive Medicine Research Institute (PMRI) and Guest Professor of Psychology at the Johannes-Gutenberg-University in Mainz, Germany. She is the recent recipient of a Humboldt Research Prize and is conducting research in Germany as well as PMRI.
